Re-using multiple DCLG datasets on OpenDataCommunities

Posted by: , Posted on: - Categories: Open Data

We are pleased to announce the new OpenDataCommunities “Stats Selector”: a user-friendly tool allowing you to pick and mix data from multiple DCLG sources for download in a single, re-usable file.

We have built the “Stats Selector” for two main reasons. Firstly, it provides quick and easy access to multiple data sources, so you don’t need to trawl through separate, disconnected spreadsheets. Secondly, it is a route for non-technical experts to access and explore OpenDataCommunities’ world of open, accessible “5-star” data,

Stats Selector will give you the data you want as a CSV file in four steps. Start by uploading a CSV list of the geographic areas in which you are interested, “Stats Selector” will then list the datasets in OpenDataCommunities containing data for those areas. The final step is to choose variables from one of the datasets listed, and download the results in a CSV file.

Try it here. Then drop us a line on odc@communities.gsi.gov.uk or @OpenDataCommunities. We’d welcome your thoughts.
