Recent activity: us and you

Posted by: , Posted on: - Categories: Uncategorized

We have put up a few new blog posts in the past few days about things we have been doing.
Firstly, there is a summary of the second meeting of the Local Public Data Panel, with access to the papers from these meetings including discussion papers on the Open Local Election Data Project and Standards for Local Public Data.

If you are interested in the data.gov.uk project itself, you can hear more about it from Richard Stirling, Head of data.gov.uk, who spoke to Richard Wallis at Talis in a podcast about the project.

You can also read a summary of how the data.gov.uk team has been working with community events such as the Linked Data Meet Up at dev8D, PHP London 2010 and WhereCamp EU.

We have also made some additional changes and improvements to the site.

There have also been some interesting new applications uploaded onto the site since we last blogged. These include the Police API which allows you to retrieve information such as team members, upcoming events, crime levels & statistics about neighbourhood areas in all 43 English & Welsh police forces.

Another is the UK Public Sector Information Data Mashup which uses Ordnance Survey’s OpenSpace service to show data available from various sources of information for a given part of the UK.

As always, if you have any feedback please get in touch through the contact us form.
